Brockwell Energy is pleased to announce that construction at Earls Gate Energy Centre (EGEC) commenced in March 2019, marking a major milestone in the development of the £210 million Energy-from-Waste (EfW) facility in Grangemouth, Scotland.
The piling phase of construction began in March 2019, laying the critical groundwork for the facility, which will ultimately process 216,000 tonnes of household and commercial waste annually. Once operational, EGEC will generate 79GWh of green electricity and 81GWh of heat, significantly reducing landfill waste and supporting local industry through its Combined Heat and Power (CHP) capabilities.
A Key Step Towards a Sustainable Future
With construction progressing on schedule, EGEC remains on track for completion in late 2021. The facility will create up to 500 jobs during construction and provide 30 long-term skilled positions once operational.
Brockwell Energy is committed to delivering sustainable energy solutions, and the start of construction at EGEC represents a significant step toward Scotland’s low-carbon future.
